Should Santa be Allowed to Come to School?

My thoughts on this article :Should Santa Be Allowed in Classrooms?

WHAT!!!!?  No Santa in classrooms is blaspheme! If i went to Fort Worth ISD, I would feel like my rights as a child have been taken away. If i were a parent, I would try to protest against this ruling. School is where you learn what the true holiday spirit is. Its school that teach us to give and be grateful. They are taking away these kids childhood memories. I remember my "Secret Santa" in kindergarten and making Christmas cards and letters. It was the funniest part of the year.

Favorite Internet Teaching Resource Site

I love Lesson Plan. It has the best to me. I used it last year and I used it again this year and it worked just as great. I got many ideas from this website. It tells you what grades level the lesson would be suitable for. It also give you step by step instructions and what you need to complete the level. It has lessons for different subjects and grades from K-12.  Although the website has changed since last year, it is still easy to use.

Week 4- Procrastination

Procrastination can be a very stressful thing. Especially as a teacher because if a teacher puts off a lesson or an activity and it comes down to standardized test, then a major task falls on them., nor is it fair to the students to have to be pressured to learn so much at once. In this class, if you procrastinate then you will fall behind and have a lot of stress to come and make up your missed assignments.

Week 3- Leadership Opportunity

I had a great experience with a leader ship opportunity this week. My teacher put me in charge of rest room  breaks after recess. During the restroom break, two little boys got into a disagreement and one little boy pushed another. I had to talk to both of them and work out the situation. Also, my teacher put me in charge of the math lesson for that day. She did one question from the lesson plan book and let me take charge after that.

Week 2- Identify a Student

The one student I picked out one student who is a visual and tactile learner. They must see examples and do examples to learn new material. This student must also use their plastic chips and plastic letters to help them with math and reading and writing.

Week 1 - Describe the Classsroom

My classroom is unique because their class has access to the court yard. They have a huge carpet for the children to sit on to give most of their lessons or to have class reading time. Their desks are so little and the chairs aren't connected. I had forgot what it was like to have chairs and desk separate. My teacher is the best. I love being her inter so much. She was my third grade teacher, so we have a history and we get along wonderfully. I love my kids too. I inter with first graders and they are so sweet and untainted. They so friendly and open to everyone.  The most exciting thing for me, over there, is actually teaching them and having them understand and comprehend me. Its an amazing feeling.

Improvements to Image Scrimmage

In my Image Scrimmage, I could have done better in my "How To" demonstration. I was late in presenting and I could of recapped to make the time longer and to make my demonstration more efficient. Being late was the major reason I got my points taken away. I also could of done better in the Verbal Essay - Can You Think on Your Feet? I really didn't know what to say to the question and couldn't respond very well. Especially since my question covered something I rarely do.

What Will Technology Look Like in My Class Room?

My class room will not have a lot of technology. I like the old ways of teaching. If people could learn well with out technology, then so can the upcoming kids. I will have some class room computers to teach typing and for Power Points. We will use DVDs to watch education videos and maybe even just fun movies. There wont be ipods and Mac computers to spoil and rot the minds of little kids. I think technology rots the brain and loses that special touch of child hood, like arts and crafts with glue and paint.

What I Think About Facebook... Tell Me WhatYou Think

Although the article, What Facebook Does to Kids, features bad and good things about Facebook, I still believe that Facebook is a great way to communicate. They say that Facebook can cause friendships to grow stronger and faster because most people don't look at the race of people, so their friendship grows from common interest. Facebook is a fun way to connect to people all around the world. Comment on my post and tell me what you think about Facebook.
